Has it really been a month since my last post?
My adoring fans must be worried?
Why so long?
A really bad hangover?...uh...no
Was I avoiding the holiday writing schlock where if you write about wine you either have to write about sparkling wine or create a Top 100 list?...not really (Number 1 - No more Top 100 Lists)
Did I have a slothful attitude?...yeah pretty much.
So to start the new year off I am going to do three things;
Train my palate more like this 'How to train you palate'
Learn how to pronounce wine terms better
and try to remember vintages

Light mouthfeel, med acid, sweet but not too much with citrus and white pepper coming through on the palate.
Went well with Chicken Vindaloo.
Defiantly will buy again.
Music match for this year...Theme to James Bond
I was feeling tired when I came home from work and didn't want to make a big meal for dinner, so I decided I would have some Cheerios. The only problem is I can't drink wine with a breakfast cereal. Screw it I am going to do it anyway. Now the problem has changed to, what wine matches with Cheerios? There is milk in it which is sort of like a creamy french dish, so maybe I should have a Bordeaux. You drink Orange Juice with breakfast so maybe I should have Champagne and OJ. Strawberries are good with cheerios so maybe I should have a big fruity Cali Wine. But I am trying to complete this Wine Century Club, where you try and drink 100 different types of grapes, so maybe I should have something new. It's not like there is classic wine paring with Cheerios to make the Cheerios taste better. So that is how I went....something new.

When I first poured the wine I notice that it is a bit fizzy...which should cover the Champagne and OJ. From the smell I thought it was corked, but it couldn't be because it wsa a synthetic cork. Can you have a synthetically corked wine? On the palate the syntheticness didn't show up, instead it was slightly fruity, red berries, and it was slightly sweet. The sweetness I thought would be a good match for the Cherrios. Overall I thought the match worked pretty decently but after the Cheerios were done the wine disappointed. Not very complex and not very interesting. I would not buy hte wine again, but next time I have cheerios I am going for a Bordeaux.
